The woes of the now defector BTC-e Russians oldest crypto exchange platform have followed it to its new successor Wex. This is after the New Zealand Domain Name Commission (DNC) pulled down sites belonging to Wex ending with .nz domains.
According to the DNC Wex provided false contact details to the commission during registration. The suspension came about after DNC conducted a thorough investigation to ascertain the accuracy of the contact details and upon completion, DNC realized Wex had submitted inaccurate contact details. At that point, DNC had no other option but to suspend Wex .nz domains after conducting inquiries. The affected Wex .nz domains are wxcoin.nz, wxcash.nz, wexcoin.nz, wexcash.nz and wexbet.nz. While issuing the suspension notice, DNC had this to say;
“The commission had to use its powers under the Principles and Responsibilities policy and suspend domains ending with .nz names belonging to Wex. The commission was acting in its legal mandate of protecting users and wants .nz to be safe, trusted and secure domain names space supported by its data validation process.”
The commission had to take the actions above after the public raised numerous complaints concerning Wex.nz domains. The announcement was made on 19 November.
